Dunlop Sponsors AJ Venter as he takes on the Isle

Venter will again be the only South African represented at this year’s encounter with the “Mountain” at the IoMTT, having made his debut in 2013 and riding again in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. As part of the sponsorship package, he will have a new set of tyres for each session and technical advice and support from the Dunlop team in Europe.

The Isle of Man TT, known as one of the “ultimate must see” events for motorsport fans across the globe, takes place from 25 May until 7 June 2019 on the Isle of Man, a tiny country between England and Ireland. During these dates the island turns into a motorcycle epicentre where the world’s greatest road racers gather to challenge the 60.72 kilometre course carved out of the mountain, in what is reputedly one of the most dangerous public road race events on the road racing calendar.

The IoMTT has taken place for over 100 years, with the inaugural race in 1907. Each evening from the 25 May until the 31 May competitors will ride out in qualifying runs to secure a position in the 1 – 5 June events during the Isle of Man TT Festival. Venter will be competing in three of the seven categories - the Supersport TT, Lightweight TT and Electric Bike categories

As a competitor in the fastest road race on the planet, Venter will not only be tackling the mountain but will face off against record breakers from 2018, Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman who will be returning to push for new lap records in excess of 135.452 miles/217.989 kilometres per hour. The stellar line up of the IoMTT field includes road racing greats John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop and Ian Hutchinson.

The new Dunlop D213 GP Pro promises to deliver, providing ultimate grip, endurance and stability. With Aramid JLB front construction and 2 Polyester Ply, deformation is controlled – even under centrifugal force and at lean angle limits.
